Speaking about individual matters can be tough to do even when speaking to someone that you know well. When talking to a complete stranger, that can make it feel harder. If your therapist is beginning to discuss something that’s difficult for you, you might wish to withdraw on talking about it. It could be that it hurts to think of or that you really feel you do not understand the much deeper answers that they’re looking for. If you only enable them in on half of the details, your progress will be prevented.
It’s your therapist’s goal to help you make progress in the areas that you’re fighting with. And in order for them to do that, they require you, to be truthful with them. This does not indicate that you need to pour out every information of your life, but ensure that the info you are sharing is true.
